Welcome to the first edition of Beautiful You. This section will help women with simple techniques to feel and look beautiful always! Beauty to me is ‘What you feel about yourself’.
They say beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. It most certainly does, but feeling beautiful from inside and loving yourself is more important. Feeling beautiful on the inside has more to do with your personality than your appearance – which in turn will automatically radiate on your outward looks.
To do this, you need to make a little effort and start following – what I call simple “Inner Facial regime” – my special beauty brand. This regime can make you feel good about yourself, thus bringing a new self-confidence and making you feel beautiful inside out.
So, without further ado, here is what you need to do:
Step 1 – Cleanse your mind by removing negative energies and bringing in positive vibes. Many a times, we spend our time and energy on pointless things or situations which are not in our control or are temporary. Let us consciously decide where to spend our precious time. To do this start filling your mind with positivity. Start thinking about all the positive things in life. Do a quick 5 minute self-talk in front of the mirror and think about all the good things you have in you. Apart from this, also try to consciously avoid negative people.
Step 2 – Tone by showing gratitude. Being grateful for what all God has given you will always give you a feeling of contentment. Problems are part and parcel of everyone’s life. Looking beyond them and thanking the Almighty for all that he has blessed you with, makes you a happy and beautiful soul.
Step 3 – Massage in the form of any exercise is very important. It will not only burn those calories but also boost your mood and will bring a radiant glow to your face, making you feel and look even more beautiful. Apart from this, also try doing thought massage in the form of meditation. Meditation is one of the few stress-less practices that can truly rejuvenate your skin, transforming all your cells and tissues.
The effect of meditation is like an anti-aging pill that cleanses your skin and rejuvenates your complexion. It allows you to focus on the moment, thereby combating stress. During this process, focus on your breathing which will calm your mind. Every time the mind wanders, let the thought pass through and return to the current moment.
Step 4 – Steam with focusing on you. In this step, I would recommend be a little selfish and try to set aside a ‘ME’ time. It is a window to reduce your stress levels and recharge your batteries. Taking time for yourself is absolutely a necessity and not a luxury anymore. It can be anything that you truly enjoy doing like reading, singing, dancing, yoga, shopping, playing etc. But this time should be only for you to do what you like, which in turn increases your happiness quotient. Set up this time in the calendar and be firm with yourself.
Step 5 – Mask your face with the right attitude. Wear that confidence in you. This step is very important to keep your self-esteem high. Stop comparing yourself with others and rather focus on engaging in activities you are good at. Remind yourself that you are unique, and do not look for others approving you. In this step, along with wearing the confidence mask, it is also important to mix the smile mask with it. A good smile can lead to a more positive mood and a great attitude. Furthermore, you should try to laugh as much as possible. Laughter is contagious. It can lead to you not only feeling beautiful inside, but causing others to radiate towards you and improving your outer beauty too.
Step 6 – Moisturize with the right habits. The entire process is incomplete without moisturising yourself with sufficient amount of water intake, a healthy diet and good sleep. Ensure that you consume a minimum of 8 glasses of water every day to keep your system clean and your skin fresh. Try to make a checklist of items to include in your daily diet, without fail, like green veggies, fruits, nuts etc. I usually follow the regime of eating small portions every 2 to 3 hours and often refer to Rujuta Diwekar’s book to keep me energized throughout the day. Sleep rejuvenates the body and is necessary for its healthy functioning. On days when you are unable to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep, try taking a 10-minute nap in the afternoon or anytime during the day.
Last but not even slightly the least, be happy for what you are and be proud of your accomplishments. Every woman is unique. Recognize that there is something uniquely special about you, just as there is about all human beings. Do not depend on how others perceive you to determine how you view yourself.
So, ladies, follow this regime twice a week to start with and feel the beauty within you. Have the confidence to live by your own rules, starting today.
All the best for building a happier and beautiful you!
