Dear Readers,
Wishing you a very Happy 2018!
Welcome to the first issue of Eyra – a name that symbolizes you and me!
For me, we are all Eyra as we seamlessly play multiple roles of a daughter, sibling, consort, mother, all the while protecting our loved ones. Add to it our professional roles and responsibilities at work. And we do all of it with a strong sense of justice and fair play.
When I say all, I mean all women right from our maids, to cooks, to the flower seller, to our colleagues at work.
So how are we able to do it? While it is not easy at all, we never stop the flow.
Why?
Well women are bestowed with a tool, their Emotional Quotient, that empowers them to face all odds and make it happen. However, while striving to perform all roles, women tend to forget, and are at times unaware, that they are multi-faceted and possess immense power within them. The pressure takes its toll, and they tend to give up.
And that is what we do not want. We do not want you to give up.
In life, especially in difficult times, one of the most inspirational ways to tide by is through stories. Many of us tend to dive into the world of fiction, and seek reprieve and solace by living the characters in the book/novel. And with the varied mediums opening now, we are getting the opportunity to listen/read about other women and their stories on how they overcame their challenges, thereby making things a tad hopeful for us too.
I remember the first woman who made an impression in my life, when I was about 10 years old, was a character of fiction from a TV series Rajni. To me it was completely enigmatic that a house wife can understand the nuances of how the government offices work and wade her way through winning. And that set the stage for – Okay, I can also do it!
With that basic intent to keep ourselves abreast and seek inspiration from world around, we bring you Eyra – a magazine that addresses all the aspects within you – your achieving spirit, your innate nurturing abilities, your beauty, your fighting spirit and your artistic sensibilities.
In this first issue, you read about a woman of substance – Sai Kavitha Krishna Iyengar – who fought many an odds and emerged victorious, and is today a very successful business leader. An achiever by all rights!
You also read about a unique beauty therapy that will make you beautiful holistically. And much more…
Do read on. Eyra is for all the women out here, irrespective of whether you are homemaker or working professional.
And do let us know your views, thoughts, opinions at eyramagazine@gmail.com
Help us celebrate ‘You’ in full glory!
Happy reading.
