Today, we would like to profile Ramya Kumar, a Chennai based scientist who is also a passionate artist.

She runs a small boutique store – Aalekha – The Design Lab where she takes customized orders to create bespoke pieces of art.

Ramya is also a young mother who seamlessly juggles all three of her roles efficiently, without compromising on her passions – science and art.

In her own words, Aalekha is a space for translating your imagination into a medium of your choice. Aalekha comes up with made to order paintings, household items like coasters, keyholders, trays and what not, and gift items like diyas and bags to suit your eyes and your purse!

For us, Ramya is a classic example of being an empowered woman – efficient and responsible along with pursuing her unique combination of passions.
